Unlike distressed rugs, where worn parts and discolouration are evidence of the piece’s use and increase its value, in the case of distressed rugs, signs of wear are purely an aesthetic choice. Such items usually feature light or neutral colour palettes, which work well especially in modern, minimalist or contemporary style interiors. It should also be considered that, since the surface of the product is not uniform in either colour or thickness, an antique model is also a good choice in a high-traffic environment. Or in a situation where the rug may be subject to staining.
