DESCRIPTION
Can a carpet be a work of art? Yes, certainly, to the point of becoming a tribute to art itself. Sofie Lachaert gives shape to a contemporary carpet that becomes a painter’s palette. Made with no less than 102 colours (as opposed to the twenty or so that are used on average for the creation of a luxury carpet), this woollen artefact is a piece of elaborate workmanship. The carpet is in fact sculpted, pierced and stitched in warp and weft.
