While there is a paucity of rug wavers in Turkey that may be the result of increasing gentrification, this country is still producing some very interesting rugs today.
Imporant vegetal-dyed carpets, made with hand spun wool, are now being woven throughout Turkey. Some of these rugs have soft, pale hues and others have more saturated colors.

Because they have a short pile and low knot density, they are a little delicate and thus not sufficiently apprecciated by many people.
Some of the best fine new vegetal dyed rugs in old caucasian designs are also made in Turkey today.
Village rugs, woven in the inner parts of Turkey, are quite excellent.
